Growing up on a farm has instilled in me a great respect and appreciation for the natural world. My introduction to photography as a passion was through nature photography. I love capturing the colors and shapes in nature. The natural world has handed me a diversity of color, light, shapes, and it is my greatest inspiration.
This series of images is based on food and design. I really embraced the exploration of complimenting colors, arranging textures, and telling a story through food. These images are influenced by pop art, graphic design, and my love of nature’s organic shapes present in food. I hope you enjoy this visual journey.
Originally, fashion photography had no real interest for me. It wasn’t until I was assigned a project for class in which I discovered I could use the same lighting techniques and compositions that I use in other portfolios. This newly acquired perspective has allowed me the freedom to identify a clarity and familiarity in my fashion photography.
